How the MGBA Travel Team Schedule Works

MGBA Travel caps tournaments at 10 per year maximum — not 15–20 like typical travel programs. The schedule is regional to the CSRA, keeping most events within driving distance and hotel costs manageable.

The team holds 2+ practices per week on a written schedule published before the season. Practice comes before competition — development is the priority.

No travel team tournaments run September through October. That window is reserved for the MGBA community fall league. Players can participate in both programs.

  • Max 10 tournaments per year
  • 2+ practices per week on a written schedule
  • Regional CSRA focus — minimal overnight travel
  • September–October: fall league only, no travel tournaments
  • Estimated all-in cost: $800–$1,500 per player per season

Families have lives outside baseball — MGBA builds the schedule accordingly.

What MGBA Travel Team Players Get That Others Don't

Every MGBA Travel player receives a written development report at the end of the season — measurable gains in mechanics, velocity, and baseball IQ.

Written practice plans, enforced roster rotation policy, and mental game curriculum are standard — not optional add-ons.

Tryouts are required. Roster spots are earned. No player receives automatic placement based on lessons or camps alone.

  • Written end-of-season development report per player
  • Mental game built into curriculum
  • Written roster rotation policy
  • Lesson discounts and camp priority for travel roster
